The Russian Space Forum, a key industry event, released the architecture of its business programme. The Forum will take place on 9 April at the Russia National Centre and will kick off Space Week, a new annual initiative established by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The event will bring together representatives of the federal government, state corporations, the scientific community, and private enterprises to come up with strategic solutions for the development of outer space.
The Forum is being organized by the Roscosmos State Corporation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The Roscongress Foundation is managing the event. This marks the first time in Russia that an event will encompass such a broad spectrum of different themes, ranging from the advancement of the lunar programme to the integration of space technologies into everyday life and key economic sectors.
“The Russian Space Forum will turn into a key platform for discussing pathways for the development of the space industry and a dialogue on cooperation in space. This new Forum will not only showcase achievements in space science and technology, but will also serve as a platform for formulating concrete solutions. The programme will feature five thematic pillars that outline the priorities for the space industry’s development in the coming years,” First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov said.
The most ambitious track is ‘Breakthrough Frontiers: Science, the Moon, and Deep Space’. It will focus on developing advanced technologies and fostering the cultural foundation needed to maintain Russia’s status as a leader in interstellar exploration. The ‘Near-Earth Economy’ and ‘Space for Earth: Technologies Here and Now’ tracks will examine the synergy between the advancement of the space programme and the achievement of Russia’s national objectives, as well as the impact of space technologies on people’s quality of life. Particular attention will be devoted to international cooperation, specifically joint projects and the exchange of experience.
“Starting this year, we are entering a new stage in the development of our national space programme. It is essential to not only maintain our current standing, but to also accelerate our pace and create new opportunities, including for international collaboration. A top priority is to draw attention to the enormous potential of Russia’s scientific sector. This Space Forum is of paramount importance, since it will define the trajectory for our country’s future development,” Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Space Week 2026 Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
In addition, the Russian Space Forum will address the importance of education and workforce priorities in matters concerning advanced space technologies.
“I am confident that the inaugural Russian Space Forum will become a landmark event not only for the Russian rocket and space industry, but also for our international partners. It provides a unique opportunity to pool the efforts of the government, the scientific community, the business sector, and the general public in formulating and implementing a common strategy for the advancement of space exploration. The Forum’s business programme addresses key current issues in space exploration, ranging from the integration of space-based technologies into everyday life to the exploration of the Moon and deep space. It pays particular attention to international cooperation: our goal is to create an environment that is conducive to more effective collaboration among the world’s leading powers and to strengthen Russia’s role in the global space services market,” Roscosmos State Corporation Director General Dmitry Bakanov said.
The ‘Human Capital: Professions, Lifestyles, and Popularization’ track will focus on the space industry’s engagement with society and the digital environment’s impact on the new generation of specialists.
Russia will celebrate Space Week on 6–12 April. On 29 December, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree establishing Space Week as an annual event. The Roscosmos State Corporation is organizing Space Week.
